How to set up email with Windows Live Mail

Ok, let’s get started

Step 1:

Open Window Live Mail and click on the Accounts tab and then click on the Email option.

Step 2:

Enter the email address you wish to add, the email address password and a preferred display name. This is the name that will be displayed to recipients of your email messages.

Check the Manually configure server settings option.

Once these details have been entered click on the Next button.

Step 3: 

You can now choose POP from the drop down box.

You will now need to enter Incoming mail server address: or mail.[your domain name]

Check the option Requires a secure connection (SSL). The port should be set to 995 for POP3.

Leave the Authenticate using option as Clear text.

Finally enter the log-on username which is the email address you are adding.

Step 4:

Enter in the Outgoing server information Server address field.

Check both the Requires a secure connection (SSL) and Requires authentication options.

Which then set the port to 25 or 587.

Once all these details have been entered click on the Next button.

Step 5: 

You will see your account has been added and you can click on the Finish button.

That's it, your now ready to start sending and receiving email straight away.
